About FTC
FTC Bio – First Technology Capital, Inc. was organized in 1990 as a trading company with particular expertise in item processing equipment for the banking community. Since that time, FTC has expanded its capabilities and services considerably. While continuing to supply refurbished and reengineered item processing equipment to both national and international customers, the company’s market research capabilities provide new opportunities to service their customers. FTC provides leasing and other financial services. Data center relocation, equipment moves and new data center construction is now part of the company’s services. Since 1997, FTC has provided item processing disaster recovery services. In March 2001 First Technology opened a state-of-the-art disaster recovery facility in Gilbert , Arizona . With their business partners Bank of America and SunGard, the company can recover two customers simultaneously in Gilbert and can provide “rollover” options for subscribers to and from the center in Atlanta .

Gilbert Facility – The Gilbert ( Phoenix ) disaster recovery facility was opened in March 2001. The center was engineered to recover multiple disasters and to provide subscribers access to shared and/or dedicated space. By incorporating the skills and experience of our business partners: Bank of America and SunGard, FTC was able to build a facility that considered the actual flow of documents and the practical considerations at time of disaster (ATOD). B of A supplied extensive planning experience and personnel to the project that allows FTC to sell subscriptions for this service to a wider customer base at a more competitive fee. The FTC/SunGard alliance in a similar facility in the Atlanta area ( Smyrna ) along with SunGard’s strong presence in the recovery business bring significant credibility to the project. Specifics on the facility:

  • Approximately 34,892 sq ft of shared space for sorter, proof and reject repair operations. An additional 40,000 sq ft of inbuilt space available for TI.
  • 10 - IBM 3890 Sorters, image enabled on 17,920 sq ft of raised floor.
  • 120 - NCR 7766 Proof Machines.
  • 15 - Lundy Mae reject repair machines.
  • 3 - NCR 7780’s
  • 2 - Unisys NDP 300’s
  • 9000 Watts of power with power feeds from two different grids, 500 KVa UPS for general operations with additional space for multiple UPS Units, External power connections for emergency generators.
